When reading and discussing various phobias in class, I could not help but think of the phobia that I possess. This phobia is officially named “Alektorophobia” or the fear of chickens. I was then interested in some of the other phobias that other people possess and found this website with a large list of the various phobia names and what they mean. http://www.phobialist.com/reverse.html

From the video watched in class today, I became extremly interested to see what language English had actually come from. I went into google and discovered that English is apart of the Proto-Indo-European language family branching into Germanic, then West-Germanic, to Old English, evolving into Middle English, to finally what we know today as English. The entire family tree of the Proto-Indo-Eurpoean language family can be found here… http://www.departments.bucknell.edu/linguistics/pie2.gif

“Before Lucy came Ardi, new earliest hominid found.” I was browsing through old newspaper headings on Yahoo! for another project and I came across this! Since we discussed early hominids in class I found that I, kind of, actually, knew what in the world they were talking about. So this is the link to the story… http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091001/ap_on_sc/us_sci_before_lucy
